In celebration of that, we're going to take a look at the last decade of gaming highlighting the bests from each 365-day cycle. Still, to ensure complete impartiality, we're going to use the highest-rated games on Metacritic to determine what the best was. So, here are The Best Video Games From Each Of The Past 10 Years, Ran
Admittedly, Nintendo did take a step back in the story department, relying more on the basic Mario formula compared to its predecessor, but outside of that, Super Mario Galaxy 2 improves on almost everything the original created. The almost-perfect seqOnce Hosea passed away, Dutch had little to no resistance or push-back from someone he truly respected which only accelerated the groups fall from grace. Hosea's death was the straw that brought the horse's back.
The sequel shows a somewhat different character. In the crossroads of an existential dilemma, Dutch must choose between changing his entire identity to save his band of followers or fall victim to his own fallacies and authoritative attitude. Dutch is one of the most conflicted characters in the entire series, struggling with his devotion to living free while still chasing a life of everlasting peace for his gang. He truly believes in himself, as much as his followers do, which drives him into the very state of insanity we find him in during the origiOnce Dutch began to lose his mind, Javier seemed to become ultra-defensive of the leader in a weird state of denial. He looked up to and believed in Dutch so much, that the drastic change in Dutch shook Javier to his core as his ideal leader crumbled to insanity.
Ever since playing the original Red Dead Redemption , one of my favorite characters across all forms of media has been Dutch Van der Linde. Struggling with demons from the past, fighting to live as an outlaw on the run, believing in himself as much as his followers, Dutch is a complex and complicated individual trying to survive in a world that has drastically changed around him. Much of what he represents and struggles with across both stories ironically reflects exactly what is wrong with the sequel game. Having waited almost ten years for a new, more beautiful Rockstar iteration, I could not wait to dive into Red Dead Redemption
Speaking of putting money in, how about when Arthur puts so much in and gets no appreciation? You could have recently put a couple thousand into the camp. Then once you decide to skip a day and enjoy the rest for yourself, you’ll criticized by Susan Grimshaw because she hasn’t seen you put money in for a while. To make matters worse, I’m pretty sure Arthur is donating the most out of anybody. If anything, there should have been a mechanic where we could see who hasn’t put money, then we can call them out oursel
While Batman: Arkham City is fantastic in its own right, we can't help but wonder if one specific boss battle really puts it over the top. Sure, the game is perfect for Batman fans as they play as the Dark Knight who's trying to save Gotham after the inhabitants of Arkham Assylum broke out and began terrorizing the c
Look, those of us who have worked customer service understand what its like dealing with crappy people. That being said, we tend to always keep our cool and never say what we’re actually thinking. That’s not the case with a couple of shop clerks in Red Dead Redemption 2 . Here I am minding my own business, shopping around for my newest gun or suit. Then I keep getting pestered by the clerk at the front telling me to hurry up and buy something. This happens on numerous occasions, and shame on the shop owners who hired these super rude employIn many ways, the reason John Marston pursues a better life and commits to being a better man is because of Arthur Morgan. Arthur's not a perfect person, but the entirety of the game's campaign focuses on a man coming to terms with the fact that he's a better man than the life he's lived.
This one is particularly troublesome, or hilarious, in the online portion of the game. The mission is done and the players start making their way back to the mission giver or a drop-off point. They are quietly strolling along when suddenly a player manages to get themselves knocked off the side of a cliff or flung off their equine. Maybe they themselves didn't bite the bullet, but the prisoner or bounty they were holding probably did. Some of these targets are fragile as glass once they are sitting atop the back of a horse with their hands t
Especially in the build-up to its release, Red Dead Redemption 2 was poised to be a Game Tutorials with no bounds. From the images and trailers I viewed consistently, the hype was as glorious as Grand Theft Auto V 's, maybe even bigger. Games like Nier and The Last of Us attained similar spells of immense hype, yet that same energy is still there. With The Last of Us 2 slated for release sometime later this year, the hype is ever-present and swirling, thanks to Troy Baker . Now, nearly a year into its life cycle, Red Dead Redemption 2 is faced with questions about quality. What could have been done better? Why has the hype all but dissipated? And what's with all the horse man
