Physiology  
Prostate cancer begins in the prostate, saw palmetto side effects a chestnut shaped gland placed in the foundation of a man's bladder just face the rectum. The prostate forms part of the male reproductive and urinary program and surrounds the base or neck of the bladder. It's two lobes that encircle the urethra. The urethra carries urine from the bladder, through the prostate then out throughout the penis. The proportions of a male's prostate generally increases with age. The prostate itself is included in a layer of connective tissue called the prostatic capsule.  
It's responsible for creating seminal fluid, the liquid that a man's semen is carried in during orgasm. It also plays a part in managing the flow of urine. The lobes which are around the urethra have muscle fibres that contract to slow down or even prevent the flow of urine with the urethra.  
  
Prostate Cancer  
Prostate cancer will be found in nearly 26,000 men this year. Twenty six thousand more males are going to be identified as having prostate cancer next year and an additional 26,000+ the year after which. In reality, prostate cancer is by far the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canadian men.  
While there's no known single explanation for prostate cancer, some indicators figure larger compared to others. What is known is the risk of a man developing prostate cancer increases considerably with age. Few males under the age of fifty have been identified as having prostate cancer. Most prostate cancers are found in males across the age of 65 and higher. Another factor is whether any blood relatives have developed prostate cancer. The chances of yours of developing this particular ailment increase markedly if family members have designed it.  
Additionally, men of African descent are sixty % more likely to have prostate cancer compared to Caucasian men while Asian males are least likely to develop it. The reasons for the disparity are not known.
