For PS4 owners, this announcement may be too little, too late. Owners of other platforms have been able to enjoy PUBG for almost two years at this point, and since then, the battle royale itch has been scratched by the free-to-play Fortnite and Call of Duty's "Blackout" mode. It certainly doesn't help that the word of mouth on the Xbox One's technical performance has been largely negative, with graphical issues and choppy frame rates being cited by players. While other battle royale games may have gotten a head start on the PlayStation 4, Sony is hoping to make up for it with some exclusive content on their version of PUBG . As described on the official PlayStation Blog, players who pre-order the game can get some exclusive skins, the most prominent being a Nathan Drake outfit. PUBG on all platforms is in need of "fixing," as PUBG Corp. admitted through a public and transparent "Fix PUBG " campaign . While PUBG was a trailblazer for the battle royale genre, the fact that Fortnite and Blackout run significantly better, especially on consoles as popular as the PS4, doesn't bode well for the longevity of PUBG .
