For the series' first foray into the rapidly evolving turn-based tactics genre, **Gears Tactics ** is an impressively balanced and well constructed strategic experience. Managing to avoid the pitfalls of some other genre-crossing series (for all that is good about it, the first Halo Wars game had some pretty rough edges), Gears Tactics hits many of the right notes for a squad tactics title, including a fairly fleshed out equipm.ent customization system and some very involved soldier skill trees that allow for specialization that is critical to a rounded battle experience. While it is easy to see how these features have lead to comparisons to the likes of XCOM (which is amongst the highest of praises bestowable on a young turn based tactics series), the game manages to retain the unique flavor of its source material, finely portraying the gritty world that plays hosts to the ongoing conflict between mankind and the Locust hordes, with some clever, thematic mechanics to match . As adaptations go, this shifting of the Xbox flagship Gears series to a genre more about careful consideration than frenetic aggression has gone exceptionally smootDespite some stumbles, Splash Damage has successfully taken the essence of the Gears franchise and transferred it into a turn-based strategy game. Gears Tactics is a true Gears title with a campaign that builds and expands the franchise’s lore, all while introducing new characters and adding new wrinkles to old ones. The turn-based gameplay fits well within the universe, providing plenty of strategy both on and off the field. Combined with some genuinely excellent main missions, Gears Tactics comes together nicely. It does frequently stumble thanks to the repetitive and frequent side quests that vastly hurt the pacing, but remains a joy to play throughout its many hours. Gears Tactics is a solid turn-based game that’ll make Gears and tactics fans happy.  
Another studio largely absent from the July 23 festivities, Mojang recently launched its dungeon crawler inspired title Minecraft Dungeons . The studio is continuing to put out new updates and expansions for the game, like the recent Jungle Awakens expansion . Ray Tracing is another major next gen feature, one that Mojang has shown off in Minecraft , so it's highly likely that the studio is hard at work getting that ready for the eventual launch of the Xbox Serie  
It would behoove players to line their soldiers up so they’re in a position to take advantage of enemies getting too close together. Yes, heavies can lay down impressive fire, but a basic Lancer soldier can also take out multiple enemies if players are playing strategically. It’s only useful (or possible) in rare circumstances, but it could be the deciding factor in a close fi  
Rewards might be additional Action Point or Gear upgrades, we never know. The missions in the game blur together, but each of them has a different storyline and tasks to complete. They unlock at different levels and the player needs to pass them to get increase their level and action poi  
Speaking of bullet penetration, keep in mind it’s a double-edged sword. Grenades can damage friendly units if they’re too close to the point of impact, but so can every other attack, a fact players might learn the hard way if you have a unit on overwatch and they hit one of your soldiers who’s behind a moving enStrategic options don’t stop on the battlefield. In addition to extensive skill trees per class, Gears Tactics features a comprehensive gear system. From weapon parts to armor pieces to grenades, there’s plenty of items to consider as you strive to build your squad. There’s even fun, non-gameplay affecting cosmetics such as changing your gunmetals, adding color or throwing on a pattern. While you can’t alter the main character’s looks, you’re free to change the looks and features of your other squad mates. Gears of War will always be known as a third-person shooter, but Splash Damage has perfectly adapted its mechanics to a tactics game. What you expect from a Gears Slg game resource Guide (chainsaw bayonets, bayonet charges, emergence holes, brutal finishers, etc.) is all here with few compromises. This is a Gears game, and it feels exactly right to play.  
So look out before making a move and locate spots that are ideal sliding a bit to cover some distance. Even a small change can make a difference allowing a player to hit more enemies or spare some action points for OverwaGears Tactics rewinds the clock twelve years before the events of Gears of War and centers around a new squad led by Lt. Col. Gabriel Diaz. Sera is overrun with Locust and the threat is only deepening thanks to Ukkon, the Locust scientist responsible for creating monstrosities like the Brumak and Corpser. Out of options and with little time left, Diaz must raise an army of COG and Stranded to track down and assassinate Ukkon before he unleashes new terrors.  
Having just come off releasing arguably the biggest Gears of War game yet with Gears 5 , it's unclear what the studio is currently working on.
