Similar to most Nintendo fans, putting Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on my end-of-the-year list was a no-brainer. The game's new characters are fantastic, its quality-of-life updates are palatable, and most importantly, I don't have a reason to keep my Wii U plugged in anymore. What more can I say, it's Smash; it's the tried-and-true formula made better than ever.  
Inspired by the 2008 board game of the same name, Pandemic revolves around the technically fictional premise that four deadly viruses have escaped from captivity and are threatening the future of the human race. Considering that the game is designed to be played with friends, and can subsequently be enjoyed and completed in under two hours with a bit of coordination, racing against the clock to beat it won’t take too much time out of the bigger race to finish everything else leaving Game PAs 2018 comes to a close, DualShockers and our staff are reflecting on this year’s batch of games and what were their personal highlights within the last year. With more powerful smartphones being announced every year, more and more people are gravitating toward mobile games. One of the titles that have captivated mobile gamers for a while is PUBG mobile . A popular online multiplayer game in the battle royale genre, PUBG news mobile successfully captures the essence of the original PC and console game "PlayerUnknown’s BattlegrounGuacamelee! 2 is some of the purest fun I've had with a game in 2018. Throughout the entirety of its runtime, I was laughing nonstop thanks to the hilarious writing and goofy situations that I was placed into. Not to mention, it just feels really good to play. Suplexing enemies into oblivion is great.Enter the Gungeon was my first roguelike. It was the game that inspired me to jump headfirst into the genre and brought me countless hours of exploring, shooting, and most importantly, dying. This year's Advanced Gungeons & Draguns _ DLC brought a ton of great additions to the game and has worked to make every run feel effortlessly unique. Seriously, I have logged over fifty hours in _Enter the Gungeon and I'm still constantly uncovering new things . I can't recommend this game highly enough, especially for Nintendo Switch owners.  
Furthermore, the bigger screen could seriously increase the chances of spotting enemies and the overall gaming experience. It even supports up to 2K resolutions, which will drastically sharpen your image quality – albeit nowhere near the PC vers2018's " Fix PUBG " campaign and the new addition of Vikendi , the game's snow-themed map, have kept me hooked on the classic battle royale game. Upon booting up PUBG , I don't even remember the various optimization problems that caused me to lambast the game in the past. You can read my exhaustive thoughts on the game here .God of War 's masterful storytelling, combined with some of the best action gameplay I've seen in years, makes for an experience that I've been dying to play. Even though I love games like The Last of Us and Uncharted , I've always found that the gameplay in those examples was never able to match their masterful storytelling. God of War , on the other hand, finally proved to me that just because you place story at the forefront of the gaming experience doesn't mean it has to come at the cost of enticing, fluid combat mechanics. This marriage of gameplay and narrative delivery I think is the greatest achievement that we saw in gaming in 2018 and makes for the best all-around experience of the year -- as seen with our Game of the Year honors .
