The inclusion of #BE3 twinkling in stars is the biggest nod that there'll be more information on the highly anticipated Starfield . As it stands, little is known about the ambitious single-player game set in the depths of space , other than the fact Starfield has been in the works since 2008 . With Starfield already said to be about next-gen hardware and next-gen gaming , it's no surprise that there'll be a bit of a wait before it finally hits consoles even if this year's E3 turns out to be the home of Xbox's next-gen hardware announceme
Starfield creator Bethesda Game Studios is helping to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Mid-Atlantic chapter’s Evening of Wishes: Hope from Home auction by donating an eye-catching prize: the chance for the auction’s winner to create a character in the studio’s anticipated science-fiction title. Starfield was first announced during Bethesda’s E3 showcase back in 2018 standing alongside games like Rage 2, Doom Eternal , and the company's long-awaited next entry in the Elder Scrolls series . However, like The Elder Scrolls VI , Starfield ’s E3 reveal consisted of a short trailer that showed off little of the actual g
To close out the interview, Howard confirmed that a playable version of Starfield does exist. Bethesda's people have narrowed down what Starfield "is" and can play it now. This is the reason the team felt confident in announcing the game at E3 even when it's still so far off. Gamers, however, probably won't be seeing it for a while. At the very least not until we know what the next generation is, or when it's com
The studio's upcoming Fallout 76 will likely see similar combat to Fallout 4 based on what we've already seen from it at E3 2018 , so I'm not expecting many changes there. The execution skills that were introduced in Fallout 3 and refined in Skyrim and Fallout 4 are a great starting point for improving combat that's close-up. They need to take it a step further, however, and improve the continual combat that players will find themselves in during the g
Jumping from Fallout 3 to Fallout 4, we also saw huge improvements to the shooting and combat. But when looking at melee combat in those games alongside The Elder Scrolls series, most players will tend to avoid close-up combat at all costs. There are modern RPGs aplenty that have done sword and hand-to-hand combat extremely well, and Bethesda only needs to look at what those games have done and then apply it to the next Elder Scrolls g
What I'm proposing is that The Elder Scrolls VI should have a multitude of areas in the overworld where players can customize and create their own town and kingdom of sorts: refine and expand the tools given to players in Fallout 4 and apply them here. I think the game should allow players to truly personify their own town: perhaps you can build a town that houses the wicked, like werewolves, vampires, members of The Dark Brotherhood and more, or perhaps you could build something more conventional. All I'm suggesting is that if this mechanic is done well, players should be able to give their areas a sense of individual
While Starfield story guide|https://starfieldgalaxy.com/ is still likely years from the release, players recently were treated to a few leaked screenshots allegedly taken from a 2018 build. Although rather spare, these images showed third-person gameplay of an player-controlled astronaut and a piece of concept art depicting a futuristic, hyper-detailed ship render with color. A neat part of the leak were the HUD icons in the gameplay screenshot, one of which showed the remaining amount of O2 in the player character’s oxygen tank, pointing to a major survival element that could make it into the final game. Interestingly, it may be this leak and the huge interest it generated that's obligated Bethesda to share some new official information about the ti
According to Bethesda Chief Software Engineer and spokesperson Todd Howard, Starfield is going to be the studio’s biggest game to date and focus solely on its single-player RPG experience. Little to nothing has been known about the game so far until the first supposed screenshots of the RPG title leaked last week, so this is the biggest news about the game to come directly from Bethesda since its cryptic E3 2018 de
However intriguing this auction prize may be, it still does not give fans much more concrete details about the game itself. There may be some news on the horizon, though. Jeff Grubb, noted industry insider, hinted on his podcast last week that Microsoft may currently be planning an event in which the company will discuss its intentions for Bethesda. There has been no official word about this from either company, howe
So, why do fans love Bethesda's games that came before Fallout 4? I think it's largely due to the open-endedness of their previous titles. My first foray into the world of The Elder Scrolls was with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, a game that to this day I enjoy a lot more than Skyrim , even with all of its flaws. It was actually one of the first games I played where the world and characters truly felt affected by the decisions I was making in-game, and a huge part of that came from the game's dialogue options and character interacti
