Five months in, and Call of Duty: Mobile is still going strong. As one of the most polished shooters available on handheld devices, that doesn't come as much of a surprise. Now, the millions of players around the globe have even more content to work through, as Tencent Games has released the latest Battle Pass — Disavo  
Prop Hunt is the first of many game modes introduced by Call of Duty Mobile 's Holiday Celebration updates, which plan to implement a number of different holiday-inspired events up until January 3. The holiday version of Prop Hunt will be around from December 20 to December 31 and will be available on the Winter Raid map. Luckily, only the holiday-themed version of the game mode leaves on the 31. On the same day, the regular version of Prop Hunt will allegedly be permanently available on the maps Crash and Stand

Chances are Nintendo will ride the mobile game's momentum into 2020 as it continues to update the game every two weeks, taking its players on a brand new tour each and every fortnight. A new close-quarters map — Cage — has also been added. This highly anticipated level is the first original map for Call of Duty: Mobile , as all previous levels had been ported from other games in the franchise. The Cage map is a construction site with plenty of partially built barricades and lends itself well to Call of Duty 's fast-paced act  
On the gaming end of things, Call of Duty: Mobile has been named 'Game of the Year'. A head scratching choice on the surface, when compared to the likes of Death Stranding , Red Dead Redemption 2 , and Resident Evil 2 (Remake) , but bare in mind, this is for games that are on the Google Play store, and not all games across all platforms. As such, it was nominated with the likes of Mario Kart Tour , Harry Potter: Wizards United and DOTA Underlor  
Tour might have been criticized by many players for being riddled with microtransactions but that hasn't slowed down the success it has enjoyed. More people had played Tour than have played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch within days of the mobile game's release. Developed by Tencent Games and TiMi Studios, Call of Duty: Mobile is a free-to-play mobile take on the popular first-person shooter franchise. Unlike many mobile ports of well-loved console or PC games, COD: Mobile has been generally well received . It features classic multiplayer combat modes as well as battle royale matches with up to 100 players. One of the biggest complaints from the player base, besides the expected dislike for microtransactions, has been that there is no campaign mode. Instead, the game offers iconic multiplayer maps from both Black Ops and Modern Warfare, as well as the ability to unlock characters, weapons, outfits, and scorestreaks for loadout customizat  
The pass has several great rewards, including the beloved John "Soap" MacTavish skin at Tier 1, the Rainbow Knife at Tier 20, the RUS-79U Viking at Tier 50, and a few others. Considering Soap was the main character of Modern Warfare , it's surprising that Call of Duty: Mobile didn't try to implement him sooner. He'll make a great addition to the portable title — and since he's available at Tier 1 players won't have to work too hard to unlock  
That doesn't bode well for traditional gamers who despise the microtransaction model. Nintendo has been enjoying so much success on that front that even some Switch games have started to employ it.
